How India’s leading enterprise connectivity provider migrated 230 million subscribers to Alepo’s Fixed-Line Intelligent Network, achieving 3-5x performance improvement for critical voice services. 

The Challenge: Legacy System Limitations 

Tata Tele Business Services (TTBS), India’s leading enabler of digital connectivity serving 60+ cities, faced critical challenges with their end-of-life Fixed-Line Intelligent Network (FIN) platform. The legacy system supporting enterprise voice services including Toll-Free Phone (FPH), Universal Access Number (UAN), Do Not Call (DNC), and International Long Distance (ILD) had reached end-of-support.  

TTBS needed rapid migration to avoid service disruptions while expanding capabilities to meet evolving business demands and ensure investment protection. 

The Vision: Future-Ready Enterprise Platform

TTBS envisioned a robust, scalable FIN platform delivering geo-redundancy, enhanced performance, and expanded service capabilities. The goal was seamless migration of their massive subscriber base while positioning for growth in enterprise voice services including Click to Dial and CloudPBX. 

The Solution: Advanced FIN Platform Deployment 

TTBS partnered with Alepo to deploy a comprehensive FIN solution: 

  • Service Control Point (SCP) Core: Advanced platform handling toll-free phone services with enhanced call routing, UAN for chargeable services, DNC data scrubbing for telemarketing compliance, and ILD functionality with country-specific controls. 
  • Enhanced Infrastructure: IVR and media gateway for announcements, CloudPBX for call management, Click to Dial functionality, and comprehensive monitoring using ICINGA with extensive reporting capabilities. 
  • Geo-Redundant Database: Locally redundant database with asynchronous replication across three storage nodes ensuring reliable processing, seamless backups, and faster recovery from common failures. 
  • NGN Compliance: Tailored SCP endpoints addressing non-compliance issues with Next Generation Networks, enabling smooth integration without requiring NGN modifications. 

The Results 

  • 3-5x Performance Increase: The platform now handles three times the previous DNC load and five times the FPH/UAN enterprise subscriber capacity, supporting 1,000 CAPS (call attempts per second) at triple previous capacity. 
  • Dramatic Speed Improvements: Regular DNC updates that previously required up to six hours now complete in under five minutes, representing massive efficiency gains. 
  • Seamless Migration Success: Complete migration of 230 million subscribers and 15,000 toll-free enterprise subscribers accomplished without connectivity drops or service interruptions. 
  • Future Service Readiness: Platform prepared for new revenue-generating services including CloudPBX and Click to Dial capabilities, positioning TTBS for continued growth.
