New solution gives telecom operators, ISPs, enterprises, and managed service providers centralized authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA) for privileged access to network infrastructure.
Alepo Technologies Inc., a provider of carrier-grade network access and billing software, today announced the general availability of the Alepo TACACS+ Server, an enterprise-class solution that centralizes privileged administrative access across network infrastructure. The solution authenticates every privileged login, authorizes every command, and records every session from a single policy point, giving network operations and security teams full visibility into who can reach each device and what they are permitted to do on it.
Across many networks, administrative access to routers, switches, and firewalls still relies on shared local credentials, leaving no per-user accountability and widening gaps in security investigations, compliance audits, and contractor offboarding. As networks grow more distributed, centralized control over privileged access has become a baseline requirement.
“Device administration is the access layer everything else depends on, and too many networks still run it on shared passwords and unsupported software. We built our TACACS+ solution on the same carrier-grade AAA platform Tier-1 operators run in production, so teams get command-level control, full accountability, and real-time threat detection without adding another point product to operate,” said Dallas Nash, Chief Revenue Officer at Alepo.
The Alepo TACACS+ Server addresses these challenges with five capabilities delivered natively on one platform:
- Administrator authentication: Individual credentials for every administrator, validated centrally and integrated with existing LDAP and SQL identity stores, with multi-realm isolation for separate teams, regions, or business units.
- Per-command authorization: Each command an administrator runs is approved or denied in real time, by user and by role, enforcing least-privilege access from one central policy.
- Session accounting and audit trails: Every login, session, and authorized command is recorded with user identity and timestamps, giving security and compliance teams a complete, queryable record of administrative activity.
- AI-driven threat detection: The Alepo AI Agent analyzes device-administration telemetry in real time for brute-force attempts, credential stuffing, and privilege escalation, with automated response triggers for SIEM and firewall integration.
TACACS+ runs natively on Alepo’s AAA platform alongside RADIUS and Diameter, so organizations can manage device administration and subscriber or network access on one platform from one vendor. The solution is standards-based and interoperable with any TACACS+ capable device, with proven integrations across vendors including Cisco, Nokia, and Juniper. It is available on Kubernetes containers, on virtual machines, in public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP), on-premises, or as a fully managed service operated by Alepo, in active-active, geo-redundant configurations.
